Privacy Policy
Your data is stored on this device. LexMemo has no account, no server, and no analytics — nothing is sent to us.
What LexMemo is
LexMemo is a billing and accounting app for attorneys. It runs entirely on your Android device. There is no sign-up, no login, and no cloud service behind it. Everything you enter — clients, matters, fee memos, income, expenses, reminders — is written to a database on your phone. See “Android device backup” below for the one case in which a copy can leave the device, at your own choosing.
Data we collect
None. Codeblanc Ventures LLC operates no server for LexMemo, and the app contains no analytics or crash-reporting library. LexMemo itself never transmits your data anywhere.
Android device backup
Android has its own backup feature, controlled by you in your phone's settings, not by LexMemo. If you have it switched on, Android may include LexMemo's data in your device backup and in a transfer to a new phone. That backup goes to your own Google account, not to us — we never receive it and cannot read it. Google encrypts it, and on Android 9 and later it is end-to-end encrypted with your device's screen lock, meaning Google cannot read it either.
You can turn this off for your whole device in Android's settings (commonly Settings › Google › Backup). If you would rather keep a backup you control yourself, use LexMemo's own Backup & Restore export and store the file wherever you choose.
Calendar access
LexMemo can optionally read your device calendar to list your court work so it can be billed. This access is:
- Optional — you can skip it entirely and use LexMemo without calendar access.
- Read-only — LexMemo never creates, edits, or deletes calendar events.
- Local — events read from the calendar are stored in the on-device database and are never transmitted anywhere.
You can revoke calendar permission at any time in Android Settings; LexMemo continues to work with the data already on the device.
Notifications
Payment reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. They are not push notifications and do not involve any external service.
Purchases
The one-time lifetime unlock is processed by Google Play Billing. Google processes the payment and shares only the purchase state (owned or not owned) with the app. LexMemo never sees your payment details. Google's handling of that transaction is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. Play Billing is the reason the app carries the Internet permission.
Backups
Backup export and restore are entirely user-initiated. A backup is a file you create and store where you choose; LexMemo does not upload it anywhere. You are responsible for the safekeeping of backup files you export.
Your control
- All data can be reviewed and deleted inside the app.
- Uninstalling LexMemo deletes the on-device database. If Android's backup is switched on, a copy may remain in your Google account and can be restored when you reinstall — clear it from your device backup if you do not want that. Backup files you exported yourself are unaffected either way.
- There is no account to close and no server-side data to request or erase, because none exists.
Children
LexMemo is a professional tool for attorneys and is not directed at children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at https://lex.codeblancventures.com/privacy with a new effective date. Because LexMemo collects no data, changes are expected to be rare and editorial.
