When reporting a problem, it helps enormously to include your Android version, your phone model, and what you were doing when it happened. Please do not send screenshots containing a real client's name or case details — describe it instead, or blank them out first.
Common questions
Does LexMemo need an internet connection?
No, for everyday use. Memos, reminders, the ledger and PDF export all work with no connection. A connection is needed only to make the one-time purchase or to restore it, because that goes through Google Play. Sending a memo also needs whatever your email or WhatsApp app needs, since LexMemo hands the message to them rather than sending it itself.
How do I back up my data?
Settings › Backup & Restore › Export backup. LexMemo writes a single backup file that you save wherever you choose — your own drive, a memory card, an email to yourself. It is not uploaded anywhere. Keep it somewhere safe: it contains your clients, matters and fees, so treat it as you would a physical file.
I am moving to a new phone. What do I do?
Export a backup on the old phone, install LexMemo on the new one, then Settings › Backup & Restore › Restore from backup and pick the file. Restore replaces everything currently in the app, so do it on a fresh install before you enter new work. A backup from a newer version of LexMemo will not restore into an older version — update the app first.
Why does LexMemo want my calendar?
Only to list your court work so it can be billed. The access is optional — there is a Skip during setup and everything works without it — and it is read-only: LexMemo never creates, edits or deletes an event. Events it reads stay in the database on your phone. You can revoke the permission in Android Settings at any time and keep using the app.
I already paid. How do I unlock LexMemo on a new phone?
Open Settings and tap the licence row at the top, then Restore previous purchase, signed in to Google Play with the same account that bought it. The lifetime unlock is tied to that Google account, and restoring costs nothing.
What happens when the 60-day trial ends?
Every feature is available during the trial. Afterwards a single payment of USD 49.99 unlocks LexMemo permanently — no subscription and no renewal. Your data is never held hostage: it stays on your device and you can always export a backup.
Which currencies does it handle?
LKR, USD, INR, GBP, EUR, SGD, AUD and AED.
Is there an iPhone version?
Not yet. LexMemo is Android-first; an iOS version is planned. If you would find one useful, say so by email — it genuinely affects the order things get built in.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
The database on the device is deleted with the app. If Android's own backup is switched on in your phone's settings, a copy may remain in your Google account and return when you reinstall. The privacy policy explains that in full, including how to turn it off.
Reporting a security issue
If you believe you have found a security or privacy problem in LexMemo, email [email protected] with the details rather than posting them publicly, and you will get a reply.
